This Weekend in Bend

Here are my picks for things to do this weekend if you don’t already have plans.

Ziggy Marley kicks off the weekend at the Bend Athletic Club.  Natty will the opening act starting at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are available at Newport Market for $26.  That’s a great deal especially when you consider the BAC is a relatively small venue that offers a nice, intimate feel for every concert that I have attended there.

If you don’t want to plunk down the cash to see Ziggy Marley but still want to get your groove on then you can head downtown to the Bend Fall Festival.  The festival runs Saturday and Sunday (October 1 & 2) on Wall Street in Downtown Bend.  Start time is 11 am both days with closings at 10 pm Saturday and 6 pm Sunday.  The full schedule and artist line-up can be found here.

Before you go to the Fall Festival on Saturday you can check out the latest offerings of green and solar homes in Bend.  This is a free, self guided tour through 7 homes featuring some of the latest and greatest green technology.  Here is a link to a map of homes on the tour.

If you are in the mood for a good laugh, Paula Poundstone will be performing at the Tower Theater Saturday night.  Tickets are $39 or $49 if you buy them today (Friday).  If you wait until Saturday prices go up $5.  Tickets can be purchased online through Tower Theater.

Have a great weekend everyone!
