It’s no secret that Bend and Mt. Bachelor make a great combination as a winter destination. So it should come as no surprise that a magazine like Travel + Leisure would name Bend one of America’s best ski towns.
Great ski towns don’t come a dime a dozen and part of what makes Bend so special is what you can do after a day on the mountain. Perhaps the most popular activity is to check out Bend’s ever growing craft beer scene. Choose one of Bend’s 12 breweries or start a trek on the Bend Ale Trail and visit as many as you can. While each brewery and it’s pub offers food in addition to some of the best beer in the United States and the world there are plenty of fabulous dining options that don’t have anything to do with a brewery. Restaurants like Zydeco, Brickhouse, 900 wall, and 10 Below to name a few.
Of course you can’t be a great ski town without a great mountain and by most accounts Mt. Bachelor is great. Great enough for the US Ski team to spend time training here and for the terrain park to be voted the best in the Northwest. What could make it any better? How about $25 lift tickets? Yes, that’s right, you can ski or snowboard all day for $25 for the rest of this week and two weeks in April. All you need to do is buy a voucher at one of the participating charities.
